The new screen is 15.6' with 3840x2160 pixels. Otherwise known as a 4K screen. To be exact it is the Dell XPS 15. All those glorious pixels come with a downside. Not all software knows how to scale itself. If I had a 40' screen, no scaling would be necessary. But all those pixels in a smaller screen is unreadable. Windows.

Inkscape is a popular tool within creative commons/opensource communities, e.g. fab labs and for several reasons: The drawing tool is decent enough; It supports the popular SVG format (and uses an extended version for itself). This allows publishing drawings directly on an HTML5 page Inkscape uses the filetype .SVG by default, which stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. This filetype retains editable objects and layers that you create in your compositions, thus allowing you to re-open the file at a later time and continue to edit the original elements of your compositions
Inkscape is 90 dpi because SVG is 90 dpi, but that only means that if you say something has length 90 points it is 1 inch. That does not mean things must be rendered at that resolution. When you export to bitmap you can choose whatever dpi you want to, and that is the dpi that matters Example: Import an image of size 800*600 pixels and resolution 150 dpi. question from a non-graphic designer here who doesn't fully get the whole 'resolution' thing. From what I understand, Inkscape saves all embedded images as 90dpi. However for printing, 300 dpi is typically recommended. If I add a 300dpi image to an Inkscape document, it will appear much bigger than its correct size as it scales down to 90dpi No matter how hard I try, I cannot have a decent svg with inkscape (as soon as I scale). I tried several different options like Image rendering mode to smooth or none, the image DPI I tried from file and default impression resolution. I tried to save with the 3 differents svg format (Inkscape svg, plain svg and optimized svg) The images produced by inkscape, ff and convert all look the same but have a different size that corresponds to the 96:90:72 ratios in the default dpi. At least in inkscape this is easy to change, anyone an idea how to get convert to produce the same?. Both inkscape and convert can create pdf's that print a box with line that is 1.1111 inch in. I know 300dpi is a high resolution, but I'm trying to create a file for printing. When I looked up this issue, some people suggested that having huge paths could cause this issue.
